was born on March 23, 1918 in Uman, Kiev Oblast, Ukraine
SSR.
When a young boy Tadeusz lost his parents. However he managed
to finish high school cum lauda and entered Kiev Agricultural
Institute (Electric Faculty) in 1938.
Since the first days of World War II he and some other promising
fourth-year students have been relocated to Alma-Ata, the
capital of Kazakhstan where having graduated from the similar
faculty of the Kazakh State Agricultural Institute, started
his carrier.
In 1965 Tadeusz Dzevitsky was awarded the titles of Honored
Constructor of Kazakh SSR and Distinguished Electric Assembly
Specialist for his outstanding professionalism and merits.
Tadeusz Dzevitsky was awarded by Medals of Valorous Labor
in The Great Patriotic War (1946), Valorous Labor in Commemoration
of Lenin’s 100th Anniversary (1970), Veteran of Labor (1978)
and Certificate of Honors of the Supreme Soviet of Kazakh
SSR (1976 and 1978).
Having married Maryam Sagitova Tadeusz has shared her passion
to breeding lilac varieties and devoted all his free time
to breeding activities. . |

MARYAM
SAGITOVA, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Assistant
Professor, Veteran of Labor, lilac breeder.
Maryam
Sagitova was born on March 1, 1923 in Tomsk City, West-Sibera.
Nationality: tatar. She was brought to Almaty at the age
of 8. At the age of 14 she lost her parents.

In
1941 Maryam entered the Kazakh State Agricultural Institute which
she graduated in 1945 with cum laude diploma. In the years of war
she combined her studies with the paramedic work at the hospital
for wounded soldiers. From 1948 to 1951 she took her post-graduate
studies at VASHNIL.
Carrier details:
1952-1983: Worked at Kazakh Teachers training Institute named after
Abai as the Senior Lecturer, later (after defense of Candidate Dissertation)
as the Assistant Professor. She proceeded with her scientific activities
started in 1945 till 1993 and was the scientific curator for The
New Lilac Varieties research project. Maryam gave practical classes
for the students of biological faculty at the Agrobiological Station
of the Teachers Training Institute where she and her husband have
relocated the young plants from their own garden.
At the station the breeders have assiduously developed the nursery
and grown the unique lilac garden assisted by the whole family.
The redolence coming from the garden spread out across the large
area. Maryam used to speak about her favorite plant as a human being:
“With my close eyes I can recognize my varieties as any mother can
recognize her baby”.
For the active research management of students’ activities Maryam
was awarded the Certificates of Honors of the Ministry of Education
and the Kazakh SSR Central Committee of All-Union Lenin Communist
Union of Youth. Maryam Sagitova took an active part in public life
and acted as the Public Inspector of the Nature Protection Society.
She was also elected as the member of District Nature Protection
Board, the member of Expert Variety Testing Board for Landscaping
Plants of Almaty Oblast, and chaired the Landscaping Section of
the City Nature Protection Society. Maryam was awarded the Veteran
of Labor Medal for her long-term and valorous work and the Medal
in Honor of 50th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
