Metrology and Standardization Department

The Department is an academic and specialized technical sector, aimed at:

  • carrying out research in the field of metrology;

  • developing national and sectoral standards; and

  • technical (metrological) and normative support of scientific research works performed within the system of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

 

Over the last several years, the Department have developed 6 state standard projects on standardization. They were approved by Kyrgyzstandard and implemented on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

 

With the adoption of the Law “On the Basis of Technical Regulation in the Kyrgyz Republic” aimed at reconstructing the technical regulation system, the Department has launched the revision and development of new standards in the field of scientific studies.

 

Being accredited by Kyrgyzstandard, every year the Department performs a free calibration of 500 items, repairs 150 devices and conducts metrological attestation for about 5 non-standard measurement units. According to information provided by Kyrgyzstandard, the average annual value of calibration, repairing and classification works performed by the Department makes up about 200, 000 Kyrgyz Soms.

 

The Department has close partner relations with the National Standard and Metrology Institute of the Kyrgyz Republic, State Agency “Kyrgyz Test and Certification Centre”, Kyrgyz branch of Standardization, Metrology and Certification Academy of the State Standard of Russia and different universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
